art adventures

art adventures is the section of my blog that i will devote to art other than my polymer clay work.  a topic that is currently relevant and on my mind lately is the providence street painting festival. this is a wonderful all day event held in providence that i have participated in for the past three years. 100s of artists come and are assigned an area on the sidewalk where they create art using chalk. it is an extreme blast and awesome to be a part of.  last year i participated in the festival with two of my super awesome friends and amazingly talented artists, jeff and erica, as a team and we won 2nd place in the adult category!!! how coo is that (coo is another of my invented words; see lingo for definition) below i will post pix of our winning work from last year, which was an 8 foot x 8 foot square, as well as my entry from the first  year i participated in the festival. the pictures from my 2nd year got deleted anyways currently team pug lovers (my friends also have a pug) are trying to decide what we are going to draw for this years competition. i cant wait for the competition in september!!!!

this street painting is a little bit smaller it measures 4 foot x 4 foot…i wasnt over ambitious my first year….i started small because i didnt know how long it would take me or anything…turns out i like to do the 8 foot x 8 foot best!
